Translational Bioinformatics Research
The Translational Bioinformatics Research Group develops and applies computational and experimental methods to better understand the human genome in health and disease.
The Group is focused on the application of long-read sequencing to better understand the methylomes of various cancers and also of the placenta with applications in predicting and understanding health outcomes. It has developed several widely used software tools including for the evaluation of mutation detection methods, for the visualisation and analysis of epigenomic data and for transposable element genomics.
The Research Group is highly collaborative working across Mater on biomedical and clinical research projects.
