Prof Simon Denny

Professor Simon Denny is the Director of the Mater Young Adult Health Centre. He co-leads the Health Services Research group at Mater Research along with Professor Sandie McCarthy and Associate Professor Liisa Laakso. Simon’s area of research is focused on young people and their wellbeing. He believes that by helping young people during their critical adolescent years we can ensure that they lead healthier and happier lives as adults. Simon’s research is currently focused on understanding how health services can help young people struggling with complex health issues that are impacting on their wellbeing.

Simon has authored over 80 publications, and has received more than $10 Million in competitive funding from the national and international institutions. He is currently collaborating with researchers from New Zealand and Australia.

Through this research, Simon has made integral contributions to adolescent and young adult health research. His research contributions have been recognized with international awards, editorials and invitations to present international conferences. He is currently Chair of the Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine Committee for the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
