Prof Phillip Good

Program Leader

Professor Phillip Good has built a national and international reputation as a clinician-researcher committed to generating high quality research that improves clinical practice.

He is Director of Cancer Services, Mater Hospital Brisbane, Director of Palliative Care at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Brisbane; and Professor at The University of Queensland (UQ). His PhD focussed on evidence-based palliative care, with a particular emphasis on summarising and define research gaps for issues that intersect clinical and ethical practice at the end of life. He has developed collaboration with social science researchers to change practice around motivations for referral to palliative care and improving access to and working better with interpreters for patients from a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse background.

He is currently focussed on researching medicinal cannabis for symptom relief in patients with advanced cancer.
