Palekona - An oral treatment for Ulcerative Colitis
Ulcerative colitis is a chronic inflammatory disease of the large intestine. It causes painful swelling and redness in the digestive tract, which can lead to abdominal pain, ulcers in the large intestine, and/or diarrhoea. Current treatments that are available include medications that can reduce inflammation and relieve symptoms. Other supportive medications may control diarrhoea, relieve pain, or supplement your diet.

What you need to know
Who can take part?
- aged 18 - 75
- moderate to severely active UC
- UC diagnosed at least 3 months previously via endoscopy & histology
- previously treated by at least one prior therapy
- lab results in normal range at screening
Excluding:
- diagnosis with another bowel disorder
- pregnancy or breastfeeding
- likely known surgery during study period
- history of malignancy
- some mediations/medical history
