“The day before the meeting, I spoke at a pre-meeting satellite at the University of Malaya about acromegaly,” Dr Inder said.

“I also presented a plenary talk on optimising glucocorticoid replacement with adrenal insufficiency as well as three ‘meet the expert’ sessions.”

Dr Inder’s ‘meet the expert’ sessions covered the topics of:

-          Recurrent Cushing’s disease
-          Non-functioning pituitary ademonas
-          Testing the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis

The theme for the MAC8 was ‘translating advances into best practice’ with an emphasis on providing meaningful perspectives from experts in their respective fields.

“The meeting was of a very high standard with several overseas plenary lecturers in attendance and the local speakers were excellent too,” Dr Inder said.

“The hospitality from the Malayasian Endocrine and Metabolic Society was outstanding and the Malaysian food amazing.”
